Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

The PHS Flower Show is happening today and ends March 10th. The Flower Shoe is not only a Philadelphia favorite but it’s known world wide to draw in large crowds and a buzz. Here is your things to know, new updates, and your reason for going.

Before you go

Just like with the previous years, you will need tickets to attend the Flower Show. You should purchase the tickets before you go as the tickets are online. You can download the tickets to your phone or pick up after will call. Most phones have the capacity to hold your tickets on them so I would suggest that. If for some reason you need to purchase tickets at the venue you can.

There is a lot of walking. Please wear comfortable shoes. I know plenty of influencers and media personalities who went to the preview with me. They usually come dressed to the nines. However for the average Flower Show attendee wear the shoes that you don’t mind walking around for at least 2 hours. You will need at least 2 hours to attempt to go through the event. There’s a lot to see. This event is also family friendly so people of all ages are welcome to attend. In addition for those who will need electronic scooters, there are some available to rent.

New this Year: PHS Shop

PHS has their own shop. You can get Flower Show items like a Tshirt, sweatshirt, mugs, plants, ornaments and so much more. This way you can bring the magic home with you. I bought a red parasol.

New and Improved at the Flower Show

The Flower Show listens to the suggestions. When you come in the show guides you through in a way that makes it easier to navigate. There is more to see too. The installations seem to have more spacing as well. This makes it easier to walk especially when large crowds gather. The temperature in the show is a little more chilly than years passed. We would be burning hot and this time it was freezing but comfortable.

Coat check is available for a fee but it’s cash only. There are ATMs available. I would have $20 of cash on you and the rest you can use your card or electronic payments including Apple Pay. In addition to more spacing, the flow of the Flower Show seems much better too.

Ticket and Offerings

This show will bring a lot of crowds. Pack some patience and understanding when you arrive. If you don’t like a lot of crowds consider going to one of the Early Morning Tours offerings. This will give you time to explore before the opening. This will have less of a crowd, you can get cleaner shots, and learn about the process of the exhibits too. It’s a 2 hour tour and definitely worth doing.

Potting Parties

The Flower Show is interactive. While there you can ask questions regarding your own potting experiences and more. At the Potting Parties you will learn from Tu Bloom, The Official Botanical Artist of The Grammy® Awards. This means you are getting expert advice from someone who is well known to bring the best of the best in flowers and plants to life. Choose this option if you’re interested in learning more about growing flowers and plants.

Butterflies Live

This is one of the most favorite things to do. You will need a ticket for this. It is $5. Children 2 and under do not need a ticket. However keep in mind that this closed daily 30 minutes before the end of the show. Please follow all instructions given to enjoy and keep thr butterflies alive. It is a lot of fun. You will be in their world as they flutter and fly. You will get a chance to feed them and more. It’s a personal and fan favorite.

Flowers after Hours

This is the party to be. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town for this one. It brings in so much fun. You will hear live bands and DJs, dance, drink, enjoy bites, all among the very displays of the flowers. It’s a must go. You will need tickets and it’s 21 and up only to party for obvious reasons. The theme this year is shimmer and shine. So dust off your silver and gold and prepare to sparkle all night.

My Walk of the Venue

There’s no reason for me to go early if I don’t learn the ways to have the most fun. Here’s my breakdown of what to do. When you get there check your coat to the left before you go into the venue. Go to the right and go to the Bloom Bar for a flower crown.

Grab yourself a coffee from Lokal Artisan Foods or French Toast Bites. When you enter take your time at the opening display. Continue moving right to see the rest of the displays. There will be people attempting to get pictures. Again this is where patience comes in. Simply wait. The display is leaving just yet.

Walk over to The Design Gallery. It’s beautifully designed flowers that will blow your mind.

Continue the flow of show. Make your way over to PHS Hamilton Horticourt. This is where you can see exhibits like Burpee. You can get seeds there and learn more about the planting experience. Make your way to The Marketplace. You will get to purchase more things like fudge, purses, plants, and shop at Hendrick’s Gin for a beautiful display and a cocktail. They all cost $15.

Self Care Vibes at the Flower Show

There are a lot of events in Philadelphia where people are inclined to bring a plus one. I want you to invite others to come. The show is something to see. However this show is something I would suggest you add at least a day to go alone. The self care that you can take enjoying your time, frolicking in the flowers, enjoying food and drinks is worth it. I plan to go on Thursday alone just for that reason. You also get to enjoy walking at your own pace and taking more time if you want it.

I was asked leaving if the show had the wow factor and I would say yes. The show is amazing in every way! Enjoy it. Bring a friend, go alone, attend one of the events-there’s so much to do and see! Thank you to PHS Flower Show for having me.
