Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Wednesday time change

Happy Wednesday. I don’t know about you but this most recent time change I am still recovering from. This has to be the worse one to date. So if you are in the same boat, you are not alone. I will update you on my health and wellness journey and more.

Wednesday Health Check-In

I am doing well. My meds are doing what they need to do. I am feeling so much better with the help of therapy as well. I have gotten through the upsetness of my stomach as my body got used to the medication. The other things that has helped me as I transitioned is a staycation. So much that I already booked one right before we take a family vacation. Some might think that’s crazy but if you have ever taken kids on vacation you need a vacation from the vacation. Doing the staycation before I go will give me the strength to take on all of the ups and downs of travel. I highly recommend that parents find a way to add self care while you travel. Here are ways in which I add things into self care and vacation travel

  • If you have another adult traveling have built in days where you switch off on who gets up early and one person takes their time resting
  • If you are staying at a hotel, book a room with a balcony. Enjoying some adult time while relaxing on the balcony while having a drink or simply talking is key
  • Don’t book everyday of excursions. Add a rest day or so in-between-we are doing this and it will help with overstimulation of children and adults.
  • Pack your bags weeks ahead-this way you avoid the last minute packing stress and always use packing cubes to organize your items.

Managing the Time Change

I have been falling asleep more than normal lately. After talking to my doctor it’s not my medication. My medication actually gives me more energy than taking it away. So we talked about cutting my caffeine. For instance over the weekends I avoid it altogether. I have been switching out decaffeinated tea and limited sugars. Going to bed has been trash lately. These last few days I have been falling asleep on my couch. I am dedicating to going back to bed when my oldest goes. Her bedtime is 9pm. This seems early but I get up at 5am daily. That is some good sleep on nights when I am not at media events.

In addition I have cut back my media events. Declining events will happen until June and I will re-evaluate it when I come back from vacation. For those not attending media events the principle is cutting back on being everywhere and in the spotlight all the time. Managing my time is going to help me through this time change. Increasing family, down time and personal me time.

Spring Facial

If you are getting ready for Spring in ways that I am like deep cleaning, brighter colors, and even a facial I encourage you to try Heyday in Plymouth Meeting. If you remember before during the holidays I enjoyed my first facial with them. I am not a brand ambassador. If you are in the Plymouth Meeting area, you can get your first facial for $89 (retail $130) with code PMGLOWGETTER4. Remember enhancements are extra. Enjoy that glow as we go into the Spring season.

Weekly Flowers for Self Care-Wednesday Reminder

If you aren’t into flowers substitute what you need for yourself. For me I love flowers. They brighten up my day and week. I get flowers that are the brightest and the fullest. Find what works for you. Does flowers end my moods or issues? No. Do they make me feel amazing and great? Yes. So do what you need to keep your spirits high. Find way of increase balance in life. As Spring comes in there will be more opportunities to increase joyful moments in life. Make sure you get out and enjoy. Find tasks that will increase personal joy.

Girl Scout Inspired Shakes

If you are in the Philadelphia area and love Girl Scouts cookies, make your way to P’unk Burger to enjoy burger, fries, and the Girl Scout inspired shake. Both the shakes and burgers can be made to be vegan friendly. They are outstanding and will last until mid April or until supplies end. 100% be donated to Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvanians Girl Experience and Outreach Programming. So now you’re drinking with a purpose. P’unk Burger is also BYOB so you can  make your shake boozy.

So happy Wednesday. I do have a few media events coming up starting tonight. Again cutting down on the events means eliminating it. I have already gotten PRs noticing my disengagement however I will always dedicate to doing what is best for me. Have a great week we will be back with more content over the next few days. Thank you for your continued support. Have a great week. Happy Wednesday!
