Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Bella Rossa

Happy Wednesday. I still haven’t come down from the weekend. My hope is that your week is off to a great start. I am in the midst of working on finalizing plans for my family. This week we have added a few activities etc. So how was your week? Let’s get into the full details

Minions are Back: Minions: The Rise of Gru

So my family and I was invited as well as hosted a special screening. It was fun. We saw the movie. Without giving it away this will be one of the must sees movies of the Summer. If you have already fallen in love with the Minions seeing this is a must. It goes back to where it started in the beginning for Gru. Just how did Gru become a villain? You will have to watch the movie to watch it. I loved it and my kids loved it too. I will be sharing some movie swag later this week. Minions: The Rise of Gru is in theatres this Friday. Grab your family and friends and have a great time.

Wednesday Self Care

Today is my self care day. I am so grateful. Today I get my hair done, have some alone time, and stop at one of my favorite coffee shops. Now this is my every 2 weeks routine. I know how blessed I am to be able to do this. This is my time to rejuvenate. I take the time to get myself together. I am doing Mom Camp. So that means that I am working around my schedule but also taking them out and about in Philly.

This week we added the library. We will be adding water play later this week. What are your self care must haves? For me my own time is self care outside of the media events. The media events are a lot of fun and save me money in a way from being out, but in the same breath, it is time consuming. My own time to do what makes me happy is a great way to pour into my own cup.

End of The Month Wednesday Focus

I have some plans coming up so my focus is laser detailed. However there are a few things I do at the end of the month. As a Content Creator, I update my website. This means switching over what I want to focus for you all in the month. If you noticed on the homepage has been about travel. I will keep a few of those articles up. Also, I will change a few things for July. I also map out my content for the month of July online. I don’t just post but I post with purpose. Every post planned out.

Thank you all who interact with the post. It’s free to like, share, or comment. End of the month now that we are headed into July I think about Back to School. I know it’s the dreaded words that Teachers want to hear, but it’s time to get the kids ready. So in my case, uniforms, supplies, reading assignments, and more is how I prepare.

Blogs you May Have Missed

We are on day 17 of blogs. This means for the past 17 days I have given you one or more fresh blogs. I am seeing how long I can go. Trust me I am not always writing these blogs in real time. Some of them are done ahead and set to update online. This helps for vacations and days off that I do add in my schedule often. Shout out to learning how to work smarter and not harder.

Parent Camp

If you are like me and can do things with your child and need some suggestions on what to do. In Philly there has been free events for the past few days with the Wawa Welcome America. These events have included museums and more. If you do not live in Philadelphia think about taking your child (ren) to museums. They have many child programs during the day and during the week. In addition visit your local library. We visited ours and there are free events at least one a day.

Wednesday library time

We plan to add that to our schedule. Think the zoos, swimming pools, and etc. Also stop at your nearest stores like Five Below, Dollar Stores and more and get some kid friendly basic things like jump ropes, chalk, bubbles, arts and crafts for rainy days. Kids are online because you aren’t providing alternatives. Add in quiet hours too. We got many books and have them read for the hour. They tell me what they learned and then we have a snack  or lunch afterwards. If you come with creativity they will match it. We also do competitions too. Make things into a sport.

Turn lunch into fun too. Make a themed lunch, eat outside, or simply let them into the kitchen to help. Trust me they want to. We as parents have to control the narratives that we are given. Let them explore and work around your schedule. For the parents who can’t or don’t work from home, implement these ideas on the weekends.

Barra Rossa Wednesday Review

I went to Barra Rossa this past weekend with one of the besties, Elle of Siponwhat. We wanted good cocktails before the Gospel on Independence Show. Don’t judge us! I will talk about the show on Friday’s recap. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food is. It’s an Italian restaurant as well as a great wine bar. You know how my wine drinking runs deep. However, keep in mind, that they have great cocktails too. They have an extensive vegan menu. It is delicious. This wasn’t sponsored just delicious food and drinks I wanted to share. Barra Rossa is located at 929 Walnut Street, Philadelphia PA.

Also keep in mind Barra Rossa is really beautiful on the inside with great service. I also recommend making reservations to ensure you have a great seat. We didn’t have one but we came at a great time when it wasn’t as busy.

Vegan Meatballs with a Side Sauteed Spinach

These meatballs were so good, well seasoned, and juicy. I loved every bite topped with vegan cheese. It made a difference to me how well they seasoned. I can tell when restaurants take vegan meats top it with sauce and serve it. Not here.
