Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday. I hope you all had an amazing week. It has been super busy for me.  From media events to managing the family I am truly spent. However if you missed I have blogged 10 day straight and broke that stance yesterday. So if you haven’t read the blogs, go ahead and give them a read. As we go into to the weekend, make sure that take  time to relax and reset.

People’s Light Friday Catch Up

I had the opportunity last weekend to see Personality: Lloyd Price Musical. It’s an absolutely amazing show that will have you dancing and moving. It’s like an explosion of musical talent. So make sure you go. It’s full of history. Lloyd Price is an amazing artist who endured a lot in his early years. He was emancipated as a teenager and then grew to success only to have that success stolen and fight in a the Korean war. Personally he had so many struggles.  This production will end until April 3, 2022 so get your tickets. As you start your Friday and weekend plans, add some theatre into it.

Weekend Goals-Friday Joy!

So weeks are stressful. From working, managing life, or just trying to do it all, life is complicated. So while we can’t solve all of the problems or issues, we can however set some good weekend goals. Every weekend is different. Sometimes they are laid back. I can find my days in pajamas and sipping homemade cappuccinos and mimosas. Other weekends I play Uber parent or have a heavy media weekend full of events. The other weekends I may be catching up on self care. This could consists of me being at nail appointments and more.

What is your Good Weekend?

This is up to you to assess. Every weekend requires you to be the captain of the ship. For one some people have an issue with overbooking. You can’t be at all of the places all the time. So say NO to a few things. Everyone will pull on your time if you allow it. Simply say NO and mean it. Be clear on what type of weekend you are after. Find the activities that you love. If you want a laid back weekend, I tend to load up a list of movies that are my go to. For instance I have a full schedule on Saturday. On Sunday I will not be leaving my home. I plan to enjoy my downtime.

Volvér

If you missed the blog I did last weekend on Jennifer Zavala’s Chef Residency you need to get in the building. I did my experience at the chef’s table and I highly recommend it. The drinks are stellar and the service is absolutely outstanding.

The Arner Adventures

I was a guest host on the Arner Adventures. We talked about my journey with mental health and depression. A lot of people may be surprised as something as simple as using the National holidays can help you walk away from negativity. Either way it’s a great episode. Listen in.

Boundaries

Can we talk about helpful and necessary boundaries are? If you don’t use boundaries when dealing with others please reconsider. You are going to want to have them in place. They are important. You need to make sure that others are treating you the way you want to be treated. Having people mishandle you or dismiss you is not it. If you’re in a situation that you aren’t comfortable with speak up. Walk away. Find a way to place distance between you. Also know that people know what they are doing-don’t make excuses for them. See my latest reel as I demonstrate it in video form!

Welp that’s all for now! I’m speaking at an event tonight for women’s history month. I’ll report back on give you the playback information so you can see it later! Send good vibes my way! Happy Friday!
