Soccer Mom is Back in Full Mode

My son is back in soccer. With that being said, soccer mom is back in full effect. From making sure that I have my obligatory coffee, making sure I have my cooler filled with water and snacks, I am excited to see his pure happiness and joy to be back on the field. He’s really good. Not just because he’s my son. Watching him come alive is pure joy.  He was concerned he wouldn’t be able to pick up the skills since he hadn’t played the sport in almost a year with his teammates. He didn’t lose anything.

Full Week of School

Things are getting a little better. My accident prone children have already had 2 injuries and one hospital visit. Thankfully all is well. This first week helped us to tighten up our schedule. It’s going to take a few more weeks to be fully back into school mode. We have had our Back to School meetings as well. I am proud of all of my children. Watching my oldest really come into herself. She has one more year and then she’s off to high school. Trying to make sure she is ready is a lot but I love being the Mom that was chosen for her journey.

Diva Girl Meeting

This week I had the opportunity to speak at the Diva Girl Meeting. I spoke on my blogging journey. The why is always the first place to focus. Knowing your why and what you want to write about is sometimes the hardest thing. Where do you begin? Start at what you are passionate about. Sometimes passion is the best first step. Be consistent in a schedule you can commit to. If that is a few times a week or a few times a month, stick to it. Be clear because in that clarity is where your voice is going to shine through. Remember even when you are a blogger, your “voice” comes out in what content you put out. If you are wondering what sites you should use, templates, or SEO I have you covered.

Izakaya by Yanaga

This week I attended two media nights. One of them was Izakaya by Yanaga or the “Sushu Whisperer” of Philadelphia. The sushi was so incredibly good. Not to mention the drinks were good too. Since I do attend a lot of media events and then to drink quite a few cocktails, I found theirs to be refreshingly different.  So if you are a sushi lover here in the Philadelphia area or plan to visit, be sure to visit and enjoy.

Friday Opening: Tinsel Philadelphia

Tinsel is back. Originally the Christmas explosion it has in the last 2 years doubles as Halloween’s Halloween. Every inch of this location is filled with spook. I love it. Also the drinks are well within theme as usual. Its a great time to grab friends and enjoy cocktails. I highly recommend wearing your favorite Halloween themed shirt, or costume. I am always so grateful for every invite and fun. Tinsel is open today.

Checking-In

I want to have a quick mental health check in. I made the mistake of suppressing my feelings this week. One of my besties asked me how I was doing and I replied “I’m fine!”  At the time I didn’t think anything was wrong. However my kids shortly after I picked them up asked me the same thing. I gave the same reply. My son informed me that I looked sad, overwhelmed, and irritated. Like my mom taught me, everyone isn’t telling the same lie. So what was wrong.

A few days before I started to notice me coming off of my routine by small amounts. Nothing dramatic but just a few disinterest in things that I normally love. It is the onset of a depressive mode. I have to be honest, this happens not as frequently as it did before.

My game plan is to be one honest about myself and enact my plan of action immediately. Its about increasing my self care, write out how I feel, check in with my therapist, and talk openly to my husband which is my one trusted person.

Friday Drop: Conversations with Toi

New episode is out today on this amazing Friday. We have guest host, Emily Carpenter is a website designer, entrepreneur, natural health blogger, and healthy body/weight loss coach. She helps people who are stuck to feel good about their food, weight, and body image and small business owners feel good about their website again.

We talked about resets as she struggled with her own body image and resets. Although resetting is more about weight the principle can be seen in all things. We tell ourselves that once we don’t stick to something, give up. Tune in, share, review, subscribe.

I hope your weekend is going to be a great one. I have quite a lot of things to do this weekend. One of the things is doing what is best for me as well as self care. Next week we are hitting it off the bat with a media event that I can’t wait to attend. So be on the look out for that blog. Also follow me on social media as Toitimeblog. Have a great weekend.
