Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Friday! We are entering Labor Day Weekend the unofficial close of Summer. The sun is going to be out all weekend long in Philadelphia. So let’s recap this very crazy week!

Skating Vibes at Wells Fargo Center

This past Saturday we took the family to the Wells Fargo Center. For one day they opened the arena for skating. It was so good husband went back later on his own to enjoy. Makes sense he’s been skating his entire life. It’s different when you’re skating to make sure the kids are safe versus skating because you love it. We had no falls and I’m grateful. The kids absolutely loved it and were sad it was time to go. I’m not sure if the Wells Fargo Center will repeat this again but if they do we will definitely return!

Celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary

This past weekend was busier than most. We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary at Ocean Prime. If you have never been there you must try it. They have locations all through the United States. It is an upscale steak and seafood experience. One thing about being vegan and being married to non vegan is that you compromise on where to eat. They had some great food. I enjoyed their veggie sushi which was hands down good. I also had the teriyaki salmon and Brussel sprouts.

They treated us like royalty. From the food to the drinks. They even brought out a special dessert and champagne. The evening was great. A few hours with my husband while we talked about renewing our love. Every anniversary we do this. We discuss new plans, what worked in the year and what didn’t work. Ways we can support each other more in every area. It’s a way to count our blessings.

Cinderella is Out Today

Cinderella is out today. It features Camila Cabello and Billy Porter. It’s a modern version which is filled with amazing singing, new messaging, and absolutely well executed. We were invited for a special screening and I must admit I loved it from the first scene to the last.

Masks of course were mandatory. They had the theatre at 50% capacity. It was a safe experience as well as a way to break up our week. We are going to re-watch it today! It’s on Amazon Prime Video so make sure you tune in and support! Special thanks to Amazon Prime and Allied Global for having me and the family as guests.

Shang-Chi Legend of Ten Rings

Shang-Chi is out today! I was invited to the special screening of this movie as well. However Hurricane Ida hit the Northeast and it was too unsafe for me to attend. What I will say as I will be going to see this on my own is that the movie which is already getting great reviews is a good addition to the Marvel brand.

Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings” stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. The film also stars Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng. So get out during this long Labor Day weekend and see it!

Hurricane Ida hits The Northeast

My heart goes out to all who have loss their lives as well as their homes and other property. Many of the areas hit hadn’t been hit in this magnitude in a long time. In Philadelphia the last time a storm of that magnitude hit was in 1869. No one was prepared for the devastation. Preparation was taken lightly to some areas . While others were prepared the storm was too strong.

The pictures and videos that were presented showed just how bad it was. Some of the water is still in need of receding. Clean up will take a long while. One of the things that I saw was communities coming together to help each other. That warmed my heart the most. If you live in or near the areas please follow all safety precautions. There was a video of a man jumping into the muddy waters. It’s unsafe to do so. All of the debris in the water including the bacteria is a clear full on stop on such reckless behavior.

Circus Vasquez

Circus Vasquez is out! They are located at the King of Prussia mall. We got tickets for Thursday. We weren’t sure if the show was still a go with the messiness of the roads. Thankfully where we live we were able to maneuver by bypassing 76 where most of the devastation had occurred.

The show was amazing. The kids and parents enjoyed themselves. From the food/snacks available to the trinkets that the kids wanted-smiles all around. There were a lot of fun acts. I would suggest bringing cash but you can use your card too. Masks are a requirement. Parking is free. Staff was pleasant and welcoming. Circus Vasquez celebrates 50 years in the business.

It’s the last weekend for some amazing food and deals. Keep in mind Labor Day weekend is usually pretty expensive. Find ways to save money but definitely not save on quality. There’s are so many restaurants that are participating. Check one or more out. Remember where you save on price don’t be cheap on tipping.
