Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Wednesday and cheers to making it to the midweek check point. With that being said it’s Holy week for those who celebrate. The week that is one of the biggest as well as Easter being this Sunday. I for one have gotten all of the preparations ready for a great weekend. So what has been going on for this short week?

Wednesday Joys

I am happy to report that I got a clean bill of health from my doctor. In all honesty, I went to do a follow up since starting my new meds over 6 weeks ago. I love the mediation. The only issue that I have experienced was horrible headaches. I am grateful that my doctor gave me a way to hopefully remedy it. So we shall. My joy is feeling like myself and getting my personality back. It has been a bumpy few months. I have been missing talking to some of my friends, checking in with others, and more. Thank you to my friends who have checked in on me these last couple of months. It means the world to me.

National Walking Day

Today is National Walking Day. I encourage you all to increase your walking. Get out and enjoy this weather. Not only that walking is a great way to help with mental wellness and cut stress. It doesn’t mean it will take stress away but that walk helps to clear your mind. Get outside at least 10 minutes per day especially when the sun is shinning to get that Vitamin D. Today while at the doctor’s office I had to get a referral for another round of mammograms. I walked back and forth between doctor offices to get it done.

Wednesday walking

Now that it’s done I can get it done next week and move along. I had an abnormal mammogram and because Breast cancer runs in my family I am checked more often. Ladies, get your mammograms done and always follow up. Men, encourage the ladies in your life to do the same.

Mid Week Mental Health Check-In

I have been making sure that I am well. When people ask how are you feeling we get caught up in saying that you’re good even when you aren’t. I encourage you to be honest with yourself always. If you aren’t okay reach out to someone who you can trust and let them know. I spoke about my medication working well as a tool to help me combat anxiety and depression. No everyone needs medication. However if you do need it do not look at it as a failure. It’s another tool in your arsenal to use. Take care of you.

Wednesday Premiere: Air Movie

If you are thinking about seeing Air let me help you-go see it. It was that good. Deloris Jordan deserves her flowers and so much more. She was the real MVP of his career. I enjoyed watching it and seeing all of the 80s nostalgia. So shout out to my fellow 80s babies out there. This movie is going to take you back. The soundtrack has to be fire and I can’t wait to hear it. Also it’s a little under 2 hours and well worth the money. I was invited by TKPR and I am so glad that they invited me. In addition we sipped on Everyday Rosé Spritzer. It is hands down delicious. They also gave us free popcorn, soda, and Mini Melts. Wine and ice-cream made for one great night.

Theatre Run Down

This week will feature a lot of content from theatres. I am attending 4 shows this week. Starting with tonight at the Kimmel for Into the Woods. Remember we had Josh Breckenridge as our guest on the Podcast, Conversations with Toi. Go back and listen to it. I can’t wait to see him and the entire cast perform. I enjoy going to theatres and seeing different shows. So make sure you support the Arts. Into the Woods is showing until April 9th. Tickets are available now.

So that is it for now. Good health, good mental space, as well as theatre and more. Have a great rest of your week. To my parents-I stand with you. These kids about to use their home stomachs and not their school stomachs. I hope by now those looking to get good Easter candy has already gotten it by now. I got mine on Monday and the supplies were amazing. By the end of the week it will get worse. I hope my husband got my Easter flowers. Since he reads the blogs, this will serve as his reminder. Happy Wednesday
