Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Wednesday. As we start a new month there’s so much to look forward to. As the month progresses it’s going to be key to focus on what’s important in these Summer months.

New Month means New Goals-Wednesday Joy

What are your goals? If you don’t sit and drive the goals please do that now. I have to admit I haven’t been as tunneled vision lately. However it’s important to develop a plan of attack. For instance I started by sending out my pitches yesterday. Working towards getting clear on who I want to partnership with and what my financial goals would be. Figure out your personal plan.

Wednesday Mental Health Check in

I’m still struggling with the death of my cat, Tiki. So I’ve experiencing strong bouts of insomnia, lack of appetite, and more. I’ve contacted my therapist and we are working on an action plan and deal with grief. Grief no matter how big or small can really rock you. I’m dealing with the aftermath of that now. As you move into the Summer months don’t think that you’re incapable of having setbacks. The mood may be lighter but life happens all the time. So just because Mental Health month is over mental health is a daily check in. Be honest with yourself. If you’re not doing well speak up and find the help that works best for you. It could be therapy, the use of mental health apps, talking to a trusted friend or more.

Wednesday goals

Pride Month

June is the start of the celebration of Pride. Those who identify in the LGBTQ+ community celebrate themselves daily. There will be insurgence of people who will come out. I send up prayer and protection for them. So many loved ones who will unfortunately turn their backs on their other loved ones. The isolation and more is a lot. So for those who are in the community who do the daily work to show up to support one another I salute you. I’ll be sharing Pride month events all month long here in Philly and nationally. Make sure you are following me on Facebook so you don’t miss anything.

Wednesday Slow Down

I will be taking a staycation today for 24 hours. I love a good staycation. It’s all about slowing down. Enjoying your time while being able to center yourself is key. You definitely want to be able to take time for you. Enjoy the activities you love. I love being able to have those moments of clarity. What are you favorite staycation locations or must haves. I try to pack some good snacks. However I won’t need that much due to the fact that the location has already prepped my room ahead of my arrival. You got to love that type of care.

I’ve prepared my home for my 24 hour departure. The family has their meals and will be just fine. Normally I don’t post in real time but I will be this time due to it being a brand trip and it’s a requirement. You’re more than welcome to follow me on social media on Instagram. As always I will have a full blog post ready for the weekend.

Summer Preparation

As we get into Summer vibes, let’s get ready to have fun. This week in Philadelphia the heat index has been high. This is a great reminder to check on the sick and the elderly. Make sure they have what they need. Do a medication run, grocery store, or offer to clean their homes. I always think of my own Grandma. We as a family we make sure she has what she needs.

Wednesday

Also if you’re doing any water activities be safe. Lock pool gates, check water for proper bleaching is being used, and make sure kids are fully supervised. Often times kids will just be more mindless. So be their ears and eyes. Ladies be vigilant on making sure you don’t leave your drinks unattended. Be safe when you’re in Ubers or Lyfts. Lock your doors at home and your cars. Please do not leave your children in hot cars.

So I hope your day is well. This is a short week for many with Memorial Day being this past Monday. Short weeks are fun but they also can be hectic.

Travel Bug Hitting?

Did you catch my foodie blog from Los Angeles? Travel is increasing and being more expensive. So plan accordingly. I made you a mental health travel hack blog too. If you deal with anxiety on a regular basis, trust me you know how much it increases during travel. My family and I is being hosted this week for an amusement park. Planning for the incidentals even for day trips are important too.
