Monday Motivation: Getting Started Spark Ignitor
Happy Monday. The Monday has come and oftentimes getting started is often times the biggest trial to get through. As you start your Monday, ask yourself what are the things that you need to focus on to make the spark happen. It is always a good idea to have a good day but it’s how you start that matters.
Getting Started as you Wake up
You most likely have gotten past your wake-up moment. Most people go straight to their phones instead of being intentional with their time. So now that you have done the morning scroll ask yourself how you can use your phone to jump start the spark of the morning. I use my phone to read the scriptures on the King James Bible application. It has the entire Bible available as well as daily devotions. Then I use my Blessed app for more prayer and readings. I intentionally do not scroll social media.
The next app I use is Goodpods to listen to 7 Good Minutes. Its an inspirational podcast that talks about mindset and more. Lastly music is the last app I use before I head out the door. It does two things. One is giving me movement and the second, so I don’t leave the phone in the house. If the music is playing, I know where it is.

Spark Ignitors
When you are starting a fire the best thing to do is use an ignitor. What do you need to cause inspiration? For me it is looking at the calendar and checking the day. Another could be with events I have later. Failure is a good motivator that many don’t speak on. If last week was stressful for you and it was due to some missteps use that as a motivator and spark for your week this week. Nothing will light a fire like failing even if you didn’t fall out the game completely.

Embracing Small Wins
One of the things that I have learned over the years is that we do not give ourselves enough credit. If the big goals aren’t met, we ignore it or overcompensate for it.
However, there is power in celebrating the small wins. Learn to embrace it. The more you take it in the more that it will guide you in doing what needs to be done in your future. Did you wake up on time? Get to work on time? Finally eat breakfast? Didn’t crash out on a co-worker? Small wins. Embrace them and let them guide you to the bigger wins.
Clean your Space Work Spark
I can’t stand a messy work area. It something about an untidy space that makes getting thing done seem so slow. It is a rainy day here in Philadelphia. Rainy days already require more concentration. If you are reading this and your work area is messed up fix it. Wipe it down. Get rid of old papers. Reorganize your space so that you can get more done. Take the time to set your day by clearing and cleaning your workspace.

- Create work zones

Music as a Spark
I alluded to using music as a spark but there is something about an organized playlist. Last night I was listening to some 90s music. I immediately upon getting into my car made sure that the music was upbeat and inviting to start the day. Nothing will get you moving like Mystikal or Master P. Just because I want to live an inspire life that doesn’t mean my music has to be boring to get there. Jam out today.

It’s another manic Monday. It will unfold how it unfolds. You can do what you can to make it a better day. Even If that means doing several resets. Do what you have to do to make today successful.
