Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Sunday. Happy 1st day of Spring. It feels so amazing to be able to say that. What a long winter we have had. I hope that you are excited about Spring as I am. I know there are down sizes to the season. Overall I still am welcoming Spring with all that comes along with it. So let’s talk about Spring expectations.

Spring Awakening

This is a great time to do some of that Spring cleaning and organization. Get rid of some things that you aren’t using. Donate it or sell it. Be honest about what you need and if you need to consider switching things up. This can come in the forms of change too. So many will add color back into their wardrobe. Others will get new hair styles and color their hair too. Whatever the awakening that you need in your life, take full advantage of it. Spring is a fun time so get creative.

Spring Activities

There are a lot of things that you can do in the Spring. If nothing else getting active and outdoors. From running, jogging, new hobby, and much more. Learn a new skill, take a staycation, vacation, or road trip. Get moving. What motivates you? Could it it be time to attend conferences? Do what you can but enjoy life. We spend a lot of time questioning if we should so instead of doing. I love seeing people talking about getting into the world and doing things that they have never done. I talked to someone in my family, she finally has he passport. She is ready to travel for the first time. It don’t matter how older or young you are to “finally” doing anything. Get it done.

Too Old, Too Young, Too

Don’t let anyone stop you from accomplishing goals. I love when I see people in the “too” crowd doing what others counted them out for. Just because you have had the time or resources to do don’t talk down on others who are finally entering the ring. If you were about supporting others you would just simply be happy for others. It’s like getting engaged and hearing others tell you that “they were engaged and married way before you.” Being first isn’t always the flex that you think it is. Timing for people and what works for their individual lives is what anyone should be focused on.

Time to Make Plans

Spring is the alarm clock that Summer is not too far. So if you haven’t done so-make some plans. Get things aligned. I am finalizing some plans and making new plans for all aspects of my life. Nothing is more motivating than adding a few fun activities on the calendar and making a countdown. Another aspect to consider when making plans is people. I saw something on Instagram where people were talking about how you need to have the right travel partner. It’s true. Travel with like minded people. I don’t like cooking on vacation. So for those who travel with others who aren’t on the same budget plan, consider your travel partners. I know its customary to want to include friends. Be honest if those you travel with are true friends. For true friends I may make some adjustments. For acquaintances  I won’t even travel with them.

Spring

It’s not rude. I used to allow people to make me feel bad for wanting more from travel and that is over. I am in my 40s and I want to travel and be comfortable. Having a hotel to lay my head is over. I did that type of stuff as a broke college student. Those days are over. I want to be in luxury, enjoy water, and drink my wine in peace. Nothing is wrong with that.

Spring Trends

One thing I love is doing my own thing. You don’t have to follow the trends. Being a trendsetter is bomb. However there are a few things that  I love personally to take a look at. For instance, Spring nail trends or purse and color trends. Those are my two favorite things. I wasn’t heavily into bags as I am now. For instance, I will see a bag, and depending on its price work my butt off to get it. I love a good handbag. If there is a trend that you like to focus, the season change is the perfect time to invest in it.

Mental Health and Spring

I know those who suffer from Seasonal Depression are happy for warmer weather, sun and more. However take into consideration that you may still need to be aware of what you need on a daily basis. Mental Health is an ongoing battle. Do not take your self care for granted just because you are having good moments. Self care is a daily movement.

Mental health

Well here we go spring. I am ready to switch out the wardrobe but if you know me I am going to wait until we have stable warmer weather. We just had snow last week. Happy Spring.
