Big Kahuna's

Is there something more fun than a late Fall swim?! Nothing is more fun than a good swim especially when the weather is cold. Big Kahuna’s is your one stop shop for all year long swimming fun!

Benefits of Big Kahuna’s Season Pass

Big Kahuna’s Water Park is offering a special that if you purchase a season pass now you will get the rest of 2022 and all of 2023. It’s cost effective as it pays for itself in 2 visits. Although you may be thinking of the cold now when days like school days off and more it always great to have a built in day of fun to cut the days short.

Before you Go Tips

Here’s a few tips to help you before you go to Big Kahuna’s. Pack your bag with all of your swim gear. For instance, I thoroughly packed all swim shoes and still one of the shoes (mine of course) went missing. I ended up having to purchase a pair.

  • Swim shoes
  • Towels
  • Bathing suit
  • Sunblock (in Summer)
  • Bag to carry items
  • Goggles
  • Extra bag for wet clothes
  • Toiletries

Some if not all of the items seem self explanatory however there was a family there who assumed they gave out complimentary towels. They do not. In addition not on the list but definitely necessary to have:

  • Battery pack (s) for phone
  • Water proof case to carry phone in water or areas of water
  • Swim diapers for kids not potty trained

A lot of the items such as water proof phone case and more can be purchased at Big Kahuna’s but it’s going to cost you more money. They do however have complimentary life jackets. Keep in mind that during peak hours and days they may be unavailable. If you have a child that needs it I would suggest purchasing your own.

Other Valuable Information

Parking is free. There are plenty of lifeguards on duty. I’m not sure of the ratio but there seemed to be an abundance at every level of the park’s water attractions. Do NOT distract them. Obey their commands. I saw a lot of redirecting on things like not running which is posted in various parts of the water park. Anywhere were there is water also means an increased ability for slips and falls.

Water Attractions at Big Kahuna’s

This indoor water park has a lot of offerings. This makes it a great place for all ages. The first time we went was to celebrate our oldest 5th birthday and she’s 13 now! There is a pool for smaller swimmers. Attached is an age appropriate slide and more. As with all things make sure to watch your children in water play at all times. As the kids ages there is a room with a swimming pool that is for a little older crowd. I would say about 5 years and up along with a parent should be in that area.

There are also water slides that have height restrictions on them as well throughout Big Kahuna’s.

Lazy River

My kids must have spent an hour in the Lazy River. It’s the best thing to do. There are again life guards in place to watch over everyone. Please accompany smaller children. I even went to what would be traditionally be a sauna but it was essentially an adult only smaller pool. It was located next to the Lazy River. I was able to keep an eye on my children from there. I only recommend a parent doing so if their comfortable. On Sunday the crowds weren’t as bad so my comfort levels were increased.

Meals and Snacks

Big Kahuna’s definitely has meals and snacks to enjoy. From pizza to chicken fingers we definitely didn’t leave hungry. Pro tip and this is something we do at all amusement and water parks is to get the refillable drink cups. It saves you money in the long run. Kids love to get super thirst especially out, I love the ability of refills. Saves me money and keeps them hydrated. My son doesn’t drink sodas but they also have Icee and water too.

Bar for 21 and older Crowd

A drink at a water park especially when you want to have a good time is always clutch. I will say I was pleasantly surprised at how good the drinks were. I had the Island Breeze and they only had to substitute a few items and it was made so well. My bartender really did an amazing job. They have specials like a bucket of drinks especially if you have multiple drinkers in your party. Make sure you have your ID so you’re age verified.

Overall Experience

We had a great time at Big Kahuna’s. The atmosphere was inviting. The staff did an amazing job making sure we were well taken care of. Since I had gone a few times this year the vibes were the same as a regular person coming and as a Blogger. I appreciate that on so many levels. Going to a water park with your family can be fun and nerve wrecking at the same time. Thanks to Big Kahuna’s for making it a great experience.

Last Thing

You can rent a cabana while at Big Kahuna’s. I highly recommend it. The reason is you have an automatic place to store your items. In addition your items that are stored during your time is at your own risk. They have lockers that cost about under 20 for a large. Get one every time. Checking for your items or hoping no one steals them is not something I want to be concerned with. Your locker comes with unlimited access for your entire time there!

Thanks to the staff of Big Kahuna’s for having us! We can’t wait to come back! Don’t forget during the Christmas break Big Kahuna’s is open daily. They are located at 535 NJ-73; West Berlin NJ 08091! For those who looking to host a birthday party they have the space. Their parties are super nice and make it convenient to show up, party, and not worry about the clean up. There is also an amazing arcade with plenty of games.
