Friday Easter

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. For all who celebrate or reference Good Friday-may today be a day of solemn prayer and thanksgiving. In addition this is a long weekend for many who either have off or will have off until Monday. May this weekend be all that you want and more.

Friday Easter Preparations

As many people prepare for one of the biggest Christian holidays of the weekend many will focus on family and spending time with friends. I will not see my family for Easter but I plan to see them before the big day. For the actual day I look forward to having a low key day with my family enjoying food, sweets, pajamas and rest. IN the past I would make a big deal about attending church on Easter. I do not like the idea of crowding into a church when people flood for their one time a year. We go all year long so I let other folks enjoy that moment and we will attend via online. In addition I love decorating the table with Easter baskets and treats.

Easter Memories

Some of my most fun Easter memories is growing up in our church and doing plays. I wrote and produced a lot of them. I really should pursue writing productions again. We shall see. For Easter we did plays for the evening services. Kids and adults from all ages would participate. It was a lot of fun. I remember my Dad missing lines the one year me, him, and my brother played Jesus. FYI I was the skinniest one so when they carried me I wouldn’t be heavy. But although there are many things I would change about my church experience as a PK (Preacher’s Kid) there are many I enjoyed.

Theatre Runs for the Week

This Week has been theatre week. Look for the blog review of my first time at Walnut Street Theatre for the production of Jimmy Buffets’ Escape to Margaritaville. If you haven’t gotten a chance to read the blog review of The Kimmel Cultural Campus presentation of Into the Woods, please do. It is such a phenomenal production. I will also be attending two plays on Saturday and review one of them as one is not really a review type production but more like an Exhibition.

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

I talk about my Easter memories and how different Easter is as a Mom on this week’s episode. There are some traditions that I take from my parents and new ones that I have created. In addition I talk about stress awareness month. Even though stress happens daily and all year, this is the month to add more ways to eliminate stress. What are your triggers? It’s important to identify them. In addition make note when new triggers come. As we learn and grow they do evolve. Sometimes we aren’t as prepared as the old triggers. You have to be ready for it all or at least have the right tools under you. Thank you to Kevin Ross for coming on last week’s episode.

Spring Travel

Where are you all going? I say that because the weather is on the rise and the time to plan for a getaway is now. In addition to long vacations, add in some road trips. There are some key elements that are needed for road trips. For instance things like snacks, music, driver, and navigation. In my Traverse I am able to program a lot of things into the car as far as music and more. However with my kids I have to always switch it up. One of the things that is good to have is enough charging ports. 2 of out the 3 of my kids have phones. Each kid has their own charging ports. This eliminates the issues with someone taking over a port. Whoever made individual heat and cooling controls-God bless you. I like heat, and my husband and kids are the polar opposite. Trust me the fights are low. So if you are traveling for this holiday weekend-be prepared.

Well that is all for now. Keep an eye out for the review for tomorrow as well as an Easter message that I usually drop on Easter morning. Parents, are y’all coloring eggs this year? The price of eggs have gotten out of control. I got some ceramic eggs for them to paint. Have a great weekend. Thank you for supporting my content. This is for you.
