Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Friday podcast drop

Happy Friday and cheers to the weekend. There were so many media events that took place this week. I am happy to report that I have given myself no media blocks for the upper part of next week. This week was a complete challenge. From schedule changes, a disabled car, and learning how to apply peace during moments is key. So, what went down, what’s on the horizon for the weekend as we gear up for Derby weekend and Cinco de Mayo? Let’s do this Friday check-in.

Friday Stress Recap

Everyone deals with stress differently. This week I was tested, and I am happy to report that I passed. My oldest is about to go to high school so with her having a formal -we are calling a Junior, Junior prom to class trips and more it has been a lot. The original gown I ordered was supposed to be delivered this Wednesday. As you should already know it wasn’t. It’s supposedly on back order. My issue with that is that there’s no way they didn’t know prior to Wednesday. I had to do one of the most heart-breaking things, tell her that we must start from scratch. The issue with starting over is the event in a week away and all the items that accompanied the dress is matched to the original dress.

Friday prom scare

When I finally scraped my thoughts together it took me a few hours, but I was able to find one with her that she likes. It should be here today-fingers crossed. I know that how I demonstrate stress which for me is getting angry and yelling is not something that I want to pass down to her. So, in her presence I came off under control. I did however express to her my disappointment and let her know that there’s nothing wrong with feeling disappointed too. Together with a calm head space we figured it out.

Mental Health Awareness Month

May is a month that we focus on mental health. We are aware that mental health is daily. There are many others fighting daily. Some of those have limited support. I will be talking with Governor Shapiro on May 9 th at noon on Instagram Live. We will be discussing the plans here in Pennsylvania and what things are on the horizon to combat and assist those who are the most vulnerable. If you are a PA resident and have questions you want me to ask him, email me at toitimeblog@gmail.com Anytime I can sit at the table it’s never for me. Using my platform has been for the community that I am building daily. I want to be able to support as many as I can or provide content that demonstrates how living with any form of mental health doesn’t mean that life starts.
