Friday Lessons
Happy Friday. It’s been a long time since I have written a Friday recap blog. Here we are. It has been a week and for that I am grateful. My lessons this week has been strong and mighty. So if you are ready for an inside look here we go.
Friday Relaxation
I have quite a few things that I must do this weekend. The biggest thing will be some down time. I am tired. That is okay. The plan is to get a lot of done but carve out some time for self. Setting a block on my calendar a few months ago has been helpful. I look forward to reconnecting and more. I encourage you to do the same. With a renewed sense of life I will be ready for whatever next week throws my way.

Keeping Physically Fit
For those who do not know, I am training for the Broad Street Run this upcoming May. I am both excited and nervous at the same time. Although I am fully aware of what to expect its the endurance I am most concerned with. I have a runt this weekend which will test me at 7 miles. The goal is to see where I am with my breathing and more. I will report back next week how well I do. The biggest thing I have done is not make excuses. So this means that I am going to events and then hitting that gym. My husband has even driven me and picked me up when it is too late. I appreciate his help and push.

Spring Treats
Did you go out yesterday and get any first day of Spring treats? I did because balance matters. We stopped at Rita’s. I had the Skittles. Anyone who knows me knows that if it is a weird or peculiar flavor offering I want in. I really liked it and it wasn’t too sweet. It started raining however we kept on going. Isn’t it amazing the ways we push ourselves even in the rain when we want something. My husband then decided we would go and grab the free cone from Dairy Queen. I got the dairy free Dilly Bar. In case anyone wasn’t aware that they have one-they do.

Broadway Shows announced with Ensemble Arts Philly
Philly we got some amazing shows coming. From Six to Beetlejuice to Beauty and the Beast, and the Notebook. I can’t wait to see so many of these shows. If you love theatre as much as I do this is going to be an amazing season including The Wiz coming this summer. If you don’t have your tickets it’s important you grab them now. I promise that The Wiz will sell out. Do not delay. During the announcement party we enjoyed drinks and bites along with live performances.

Deals of the week
I am a book lover and Etsy must have known because they have a sale that includes up to 50%. That is an amazing deal if I must say. This includes book gifts and more. Think bookmarks, cups and shirts that have book sayings too. Happy shopping to my Bookish peeps. #etsycreatorco

Friday Foodie Moment
I will have a blog post that talks about Amada and their 2nd anniversary. Just know that the food never disappoints. One other place I dined this week was at The Window on South street. Next to it is Bob and Barbara’s Lounge. Think of it as your late night spot to grab good food or step in and cut a step and listen to live music.

Mother and Daughter Time
My oldest will be 16 soon and it’s hard to grasp the concept. So I have been intentional in letting her lead me in telling me her likes. She has an interest in music. That is not surprising. She has been born into a musical family. Her newest likes is records. So as a mom I got her a record player. We went to Sook, the only Black owned vinyl store in Philadelphia. She left with 4 records. It was good to see what she gravitates towards. It made for bonding time. She has been running her babysitting business and increasing her clients. Her goal of saving for a jeep is such a beautiful thing.
