Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

What a way to end the season. If you’re like so many this Summer had a different look or feel to it. From lack to no vacations and everything in-between, Summer has come with its own unique challenges. Let’s dive into Monday’s last dance for the Summer.

Push Through

It’s amazing how much you don’t know how strong your are until being strong is all you have. People and businesses were pushed to the limits this season. Families were having to find interesting way to stay connected. I actually saw my parents and siblings, once the entire season. It definitely was a different flow from the norm. One full of anxiety and uncertainty just like many people experience on Monday!

New Goals

I like many had to switch up my goals. Learning how to share my work space with my family has been challenging. It made me realize what was important. I’ve turned my home into a full on photo shoot. I’ve had to keep telling myself that I was safe at home instead of being stuck at home. The notion that birthdays and high personal holidays were more about renewing self commitment than fanfare was altogether new.

Loss Became the New Normal

So many sad stories of those who we loss became like second nature. This deep feeling of sadness was and is real. Having families feel devastation day in and day out was unbearable. My own family had their share of pain surrounding COVID-19. Each call and text message seemed to get worse before it got better. My own feelings of anxiety hoping my immediate family wouldn’t feel the devastation was overwhelming too. So many lives lost, I want to say I send love to each and everyone of you who are about to walk in a new season without a loved one with you.

Change is Inevitable

We experienced the level of change that was different than anything we have ever dealt with. Masks were one part, but being feeling isolated for many still rings true. The amount of people who need human interaction and had less and less of it was super increased. People were floundering. We aren’t made to be a self isolated island.

Summer of Changes

So Summer for our home looked different. We limited our interactions and will continue to do so in the Fall. Becoming stronger together. Learning how to find peace in the small things.

Summer Outings

We may have had to limit our interactions but we enjoyed events here and there. We were able to find ways to enjoy bits and pieces of Summer Days!

Philly Zoo

These are some of the few outings we went to! It was such a small amount compared to how we normally move. However safety has been our number one goal. To be honest I still don’t feel comfortable going to too many places. People are being dishonest about their exposure. Listen FYI, your exposure isn’t something you conceal. Other lives are at stake. People aren’t washing their hands as well as they should both before and now. Also anti-maskers as well as those who won’t wear their mask properly make me super uneasiness.

Summer Conclusions Monday Blues

As the Summer concludes its important to remember that whatever we have endured is hopefully temporary! We need to be able to see that the future won’t reflect this! I’m hoping next Summer that we are all going to be much better. Summer is about letting our hair down! As we move full forward to a new season, let’s make the best of it and this Monday.

Now on to more school whether virtual or not! Let’s establish new ways to interact by being creative.

Happy End of Summer and let’s get ready for the Fall! Happy Monday!
