Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Welcome to another series of the places that I have eaten in and around Philadelphia. If you missed the first or second one, make sure you read them. I like to break down not only if the food is good but who you should go and dine with while there. These reviews are of my own opinion so enjoy.

Sin Philadelphia has Brunch Vibes

Sin is the new Miami type vibe that is also a steakhouse. The drinks are absolutely outstanding. Now they are adding brunch to their listing. I tried the brunch and here’s my take on it. The prices for the brunch are lower than I expected. Dishes are under $30, and I was impressed. However, the brunch is more of a vibe for those who like to eat and have a live DJ, party type vibe. I would definitely add this to your celebration listing as they can also add club type candles to the food, bottles, and desserts. This is a place that I wouldn’t take a foodie.

Keep it Adult Foodies Focused

Sin is an elevated experience. The kids would be only if I couldn’t get a sitter. Thankfully I have a build in one at home. So, if you have younger children, make sure you make that decision before you make a reservation. All the food I had was so good, well-seasoned, and the drinks were top notch. They are known for their signature drink called It’s a Sin. This drink is made with Tito’s Vodka, Limoncello, Strawberry puree, lemon, and graham cracker. Its aesthetically beautiful and photos well.

This is your adult spot for celebrations of all kinds. Expect to spend a lot if you plan on ordering bottles. Other than that, you can spend under $200 for a nice brunch that you will not be disappointed. There is only one con and that is there is no parking unless you park at the Acme across the street. Sin is located at 1102 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.

Set No Libs

This spot is a great place for gathering at night with friends.Although Set No Libs isn’t new to the Northern Liberties communities, it has gone through a revamp. The menu is better. I would caution that if you are going to eat there that you study their rules for dining. The rules are there to ensure that all who has a reservation can get in and out without hassle. If you come in without reservation you still must abide by the 90-minute table limit or be expected to pay $50 per person for menu items. This means that you would have to meet that amount per person.

I am being honest about it because I don’t want anyone going and saying to me how I didn’t mention it. so be mindful of your time. The drinks are definitely good. This is a spot that best suits 21 and up only. In addition, the food is good too. They took more care in the presentation of the food and its flavors. Set No Libs is located at 1030 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia PA.

The Morris Restaurant

This is your secret spot for a great brunch without the fuss. I highly suggest you order the Find the Bottom. This is your mimosa setup that if you and you will finish the bottle you will find another bottle waiting for you. This is great for sharing too. The food is amazing. I really enjoyed my brunch experience. In addition, the menu is clear in the types of food they have to offer. From savory to sweet and all things in between you will be delighted. Even the mushroom soup was packed with flavor. The location can handle you bringing kids if you wanted to.

The seating is indoors or in their covered garden seating. If you know nothing about me, know that I love to dine alfresco every chance that I can. The seating is warm too. My shrimp and grits were on point. The staff treated us well before they found out who I was and after. The Morris is located at 225 S. 8th Street. There is on the street parking nearby and a few lots within walking distance too. Don’t forget to make reservations.

Insomnia Cookie Lab: Dessert Foodies

Of course, I enjoyed some of my time at the Insomnia Cookie Lab. Located at 833 Wharton Street it looks like one of their other cookie retailers but in the back is a full lab that you can create all kinds of gooey cookie, sundae, and shakes. It is super cute and a great place for all. If you aren’t until over the top shakes or cookies, stick to the front. This lab is for the creatives. Every week there is a new password to use in this Speakeasy style cookie lab.

They have vegan cookies available with vegan toppings too. Either way my husband and I enjoyed without the children. Will I take them another time? Of course. This is a great place to have a party or simply celebrate things there too. They are open until midnight or 1am and you don’t need a reservation. Go to their Instagram to get the weekly password to get you inside.
