Friday lessons

Happy Friday cheers to the weekend. I hope your week was an amazing one. How is this the last Friday of the month? Here we are. As we end the month and set our sights for May I want you to take some time to reflect on what you have accomplished this month. So here are a few things to consider as we end the month.

Rome wasn’t Built in the Day-Friday Reflection

You have heard the phrase that Rome wasn’t built in a day. It is true. If you are comparing your life to what you think it should be-stop. We all have things that we could work on and do better.  Sometimes we take and compare ourselves to the many others that are doing the same things you are doing. If you are a baker and you feel that another baker is outselling than you consider that you aren’t good enough. One thing that I truly believe and live daily is that when I take my eyes on what I am not doing and focus to do the things that I do well, is to keep the course. It sounds cliche but the best thing you can do is get close to failure and still work through it.

April Blessings

Has it rained on your life this month? I am talking about the type of rain that feels debilitating. The rain that feels overwhelming and familiar? Get ready for those May blessings. I am a firm believer that hard work done in the shadows will always deliver permanent recognition down the line. April has come with its challenges. Take them in for just a moment. You are making and have made it through.

Conversations with Toi Friday Podcast Drop

On today’s podcast episode I have, Kat Echevarria Richter, MA. She is a tap dancer, choreographer, educator, and dance historian. Her professional training began with the New Jersey Tap Ensemble under the direction of Deborah Mitchell and continued under Junior Laniyan of the London Tap Jam. In 2005, she received a scholarship to Oxford University, and later returned to the UK to complete her graduate work in dance anthropology. Kat co-founded The Lady Hoofers in 2011 with Too Darn Hot, an all-female, all-tap revue for the Philly Fringe Festival.

Since then, her choreography has been praised by Lew Wittington of the Philadelphia Dance Journal for “tell[ing] great stories in tap and step idioms, less reliant on tricks and traditions and more on innovative tap artistry.” Kat also teaches dance history and all levels of tap technique at Stockton University, writes for Dance magazine, and regularly presents and publishes her tap research.

We spoke about the newest show for The Lady Hoofers happening for their Spring Show on May 13, 2023. In addition to this show they are crowdfunding too. Make sure that you get your tickets and assist with their efforts. bb

Derby at the Kentucky is Back

Penns Woods Winery is back May 20-21st. This event will sell out. Once it does there will be no walk up tickets sold. Come and enjoy food trucks, wine, Derby action, and more for 8 hours per day. I have attended last year and it was a great time. The tickets are available now.

One of the things that I appreciate about Penn Woods is that the hospitality is unmatched. They are still doing the $25 tickets for unlimited mimosas. Don’t forget to get your tickets.  Check out there other events as well.

Friday Exhaustion

I am going to enjoy some rest this Weekend. I for one I need some sleep and rest. Taking care of yourself is key to leading a healthy and happy lifestyle. Are you planning rest in your schedule? I know the issues of schedules seems unauthentic. In the end, you have to be willing to do what you can do to provide your life what you need. Rest comes in many forms. From sleep to relaxing and much more.

Well that is what I have for you for the week. Did you catch up on all of the blogs:
