Philly Organ Festival-Friday News

I attended the opening of the Organ Festival and had the best time. It was great to one see Girard College. I had never even known of its existence. This campus is massive. In the music and performance room housed the massive organ that is something to behold. It is Opus 872 which was personally designed by Ernest Skinner. It was one of his last designs. The organ is huge and the music that comes from it is beautiful. The Organ Festival is put on by Sacred Places that helps organizations including churches learn how to take care of their organs and more. The last day of the festival is today.

The Lehman Trilogy at the Arden Theatre

I wrote the blogpost yesterday, but this is a must see. I must preface that it is a 3-hour long production. However regardless of its length it is filled with the greatest highs and lows of the Lehman brothers. The show was done well with such a diverse cast and the production team did an amazing job with such simple elements but made them amazing.

Cloud Cups Gelato

The newest location is at 3525 I Street. They have over 30 rotating flavors to choose from. Their vegan flavors are some of the best sorbets that you will ever have. For instance, I had the grape pineapple, and it blew me away. This is the second location for Cloud Cups. At this location its more spacious and has places to sit and enjoy your gelato. In addition, they do have gelato smelling candles and Cloud Cups shirt for you to buy.

I went to the media celebration and had a blast. If you remember the owner, Galen Thomas who collaborated with the late Charisse McGill for the French Toast gelato featuring Strawberry French toast. My son who I took with me to the media event, immediately got the flavor and said how much he missed Charisse.

It’s no wonder that Charisse and Galen collaborated. They both have a deep entrepreneurial spirit. I wish him will in his newest endeavors.

Spring Cleaning and Renewal

On the last blogpost I told you all that I was working on cleaning the house all the way up. The whole family did what needed to be done. I have never felt more at ease at home with such a clean place. It is important to me as we switch into seasons to renew my sense of space and mind. With mindset in mind, I have been doing weekly therapy sessions. The renewed sense of direction for me as a woman has opened so much in how I interact with those around me especially my family.

Weekend Goals

This weekend is one of the heaviest hit media weekends I have had in a long time. From the brunches that I will be experiencing to seeing Frozen tonight I can’t wait. I will have my review of Frozen by morning. It is at Ensemble Philly Arts, formerly the Kimmel Cultural Campus. If you aren’t following me on social media, now is the time.

Conversations with Toi

On the episode we talk about ovarian cancer due to the overwhelming love and support of Jessica Pettway who at 36 leaves behind her daughters and husband. This tragedy is even more alarming since if caught early enough, it can be prevented. She was misdiagnosed and mishandled in her health. Something that so many African Americans are aware due to racial biases in the medical field. Please get your appointments and encourage those around you to do the same.

If something doesn’t sound right, get a second opinion. Your health is your wealth. This episode I am asking everyone that can to share. The message is more than me its about saving lives.
