Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

Happy Wednesday and cheers to making it to the mid-week. With so much happening in the world never forget to give yourself grace. So how has the week been?

Wednesday Joy

Albeit starting off as banter I would love to talk about the past. If you have ever had someone bring up old dirt and it hasn’t bothered you like it would before-that’s growth. Every last one of us has a past. These are the things that you aren’t proud took place but you are aware that it doesn’t dictate your future. Sometimes when people bring it up it may not be malicious. It could be triggered by a conversation. Other times it could because as they process things it’s inevitable to mention. Here are some ways to deal when the past comes knocking:

  • Own it-people don’t like it when the sting of what happened doesn’t set you off
  • Don’t shy away from it
  • Apologize again for it albeit hurtful, embarrassing, or more
  • Be understanding- there’s a reason for the mention-focus on that instead of the feeling of resentment

Mid-Week Reality

By now we should be more than understanding of how our timing works. If something isn’t giving you good results in now you manage life and especially your time-end it. Why take yourself through so much torture?! Be clear about how you can be more productive or better get a better steward over your life. Don’t be afraid to have to “reinvent” the wheel in your story. You may not be able to control it all but you have absolute power over you and the storyline being created. Take charge!

Monster Jam-Wednesday Fun Rewind

Over the weekend my family and I attended our first Monster Jam. This is when the trucks/cars do all of the flips and tricks. We had a blast. I know we will be back. It provided entertainment, fun, and family time. Also my kids loved being able to score each ride. They felt included. Here are some tips for attending at the Lincoln Financial Field:

  • Come early at least an hour ahead. Parking is a struggle. There’s plenty of spot but congestion is worse than an Eagles or other sporting event
  • New technology for scanning only allows one person to be scanned at a time. Expect delays-this is for all events fyi
  • Bring it be prepared to purchase headphones for all ages. Sensitivity for hearing can happen at any age
  • Pack patience-from the volume of people to getting food you will need it
  • Have fun

Daily Grind-Wednesday Hustle Tips

Although we are all trying our best to make it through the say remember the parts of your life that does work. For instance listening to a podcast to start my morning helps. It gets me pumped to take on the day. In addition, taking mental health breaks during my day helps too. This can be in the form of a walk, drinking water, nurturing my body with food and more. We all have deep goals. Be patient when the plan breaks as well as be grateful when it doesn’t. Invest in yourself always. Do not give more attention to distractions than you do with the great things you are accomplishing.

National Hanging Out Day

We are a days away from Earth Day. Today is National Hanging Out Day. It’s a day to encourage you to allow your clothes to hang out on a line outdoors. It’s not always practical but can be done. I’ve seen innovative ways to do so in just about every house and apartment size. It takes some creativity but worth the savings in drying clothes. You can save money and energy by doing it. When was the last time you hung out you clothes?? Growing up my grandparents didn’t have a dryer. They hung their clothes right in the backyard. However their clothes seemed to also smell better for it. So take some time to consider it.

So happy Wednesday. There’s nothing giving to you that you can’t change. Make the best of your week. Reconnect with yourself and those around you. Don’t allow social media to be your only saving grace. Practice patience always and make your Wednesday just as amazing as you are! You got this!
