ToiTime

Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

I hope all of the mothers had a great Mother’s Day! I know for most of us in quarantine it might not been the same type of day you anticipated but I hope you made the most of it. For those who day was filled with mixed emotions and grieve in any form I pray your continual healing and peace.

This weekend my husband was living in his pain of his mother not being here as she has transitioned in these last few years. Watching him struggle is always uncomfortable. Struggling to ways to provide comfort, a listening ear, etc. is never as easy as it sounds. Do I give him a hug, or say comforting words? I just take a cue from him and let him know I’m here for him and try not to push too hard. I’m grateful for his mother raising him right and she is deeply missed.

Birthday Thank You

Thank you to all who read the Birthday Blog. My birthday was also on Mother’s Day yesterday. I’m grateful for life always. Over the weekend so much death announcements humbled me in gratitude. I’m grateful for my husband and family for making my day as wonderful as possible. My kids served me breakfast in bed. I didn’t have to cook, clean, or lift a finger. I was able to spend time recording my taping of Tea with Toi that I do with TCP in the Morning. I also was a guest on Sayless Podcast with TCP; The Cultured Professional, as we discussed Ahmaud Arbery’s senseless murder. You can catch it here! Also for those who love to listen to the radio you can listen to the new radio show of TCP, WTCP a 24 hour radio experience! I enjoyed watching Insecure and enjoying a late dinner and drinking a glass or two of wine. It was a peaceful day. I also enjoyed spending the day with my twin. My family and friends really showed up with gifts and calls, texts, video chats etc. My heart was truly full.

Monday Refresh

With the way that the days have been going the days seem to mush together but Mondays should still be a sense of renewal. New week are still ways for new goals and new achievements to conquer. It doesn’t matter where you are in the spectrum of life, we all have that that we need to conquer from the inside out. New habits to form that are healthy, breaking of bad habits, new sleeping patterns to achieve, etc. we all have something to work towards. What are those goals for you? What are you working toward? Let’s renew our minds. As we eliminate necessary things to make room for increase, clear last week’s struggles, hang ups, and failures. As we know that mental hang ups are the very hinderances that attempt to cause delays in personal growth, take control of your mindset early!

Goal Setting

So what are you working towards? What projects are you working through this week? We have been clearing out old junk. Making room to just having things right. The excuse of not having time can no longer apply. Some of the projects have been years in the making. Now taking it off the plate has felt great. For those it may be surviving another week. That’s perfectly okay too. You don’t have to have a new goal every week but you can renew your mind to continue in a great mental space daily and weekly. One thing about this slow down of quarantine is that I’m learning to reshuffle the things that matter. Working towards better sleep, continuing great eating habits when possible since I’m not giving up my wine floats, and loving on those around me.

As we enter this Monday, let’s renew the goals, take charge of your mental health, and find as much peace as you can!

Here’s to another week of Yes while flexing the NO muscles without explanation!
