Mental Wellness and Self Care Queen

self care

I’ve gotten a few messages about what happened to Sunday Messages? I would say nothing exactly! I think that since Summer time has come into view my Sundays are more relaxed. I take my Sunday as resting. I will be able to get back to the traditional Sunday Message in the Fall. What are Sundays like for me?

Restoration

I use my Sunday for restoration. It’s the only day of the week I get a little more sleep. I’m serious. My kids are a little older. They can grab cereal on their own. I get to lay around even if I’m not sleeping and gather my thoughts. I enjoy it. I love just being able to tell the kids to relax too. We are on go even with being at home during the week. The kids do camp from home Monday-Thursday and having to be up at 7am. I’m working with them and with work on my plate too. I do a lot of blog projects during the week, including recording 2 podcast episodes and editing. Sunday is the ultimate day to relax and rest.

Start the Week off Right

After I use the first part of Sunday for restoration, listening to podcast, making a late brunch, and having my mimosa, I prepare for my week. I cook as much as I can to stop having to run the oven or crock pot during the week. I plan my content or go back over my month of content. I also set my goals for the week on paper and on the white board. I record my segment for TCP (The Cultured Professional) in the Morning Show. It airs on Mondays and Wednesdays. My segment airs on Monday! Catch last week’s episode here! I also record my Podcast with TCP called Tea with Toi! So as you can see, Sunday is a lot!

Sunday Reset

How am I resting if I have so much on my plate? Easy. If you think this is a lot to do, my during the week is even crazier. I’m doing all of this all from the comfort of my home too. It takes a lot to juggle it all! Sundays are my day to really relax my brain. I enjoy every part of it. Outside of that I enjoy working out starting out my week too. It sets my tone to the success of the week.

By 7pm I’ve gotten all of that done. I enjoy sitting only my couch and watching the kids play. We enjoy a snack most times too. I enjoy an alcoholic beverage to end my day too. One of the last things I do is end my day with a journal entry. It’s one of the best things! I may have so many but I don’t think there’s such a thing!

National Ice-cream Day

How are you spending your day today? I love ice-cream! Today is National ice-cream day! So I am going to let the kids do ice-cream sundaes with all of the fixings! They are going to love that. We just went to Dairy Queen yesterday to avoid the rush of the day! Plus the weather is crazy hot today! I didn’t want my kids to be exposed to all of the heat with their asthma. Dairy Queen has a vegan Dilly Bar! Love was made! I usually go with my family to Dairy Queen and come back home to my home pints of ice-cream! So my whole heart was happy to see Dairy Queen stepping it up for those who are vegan or dairy free. You do know there are some people who are dairy free but not full on vegan?

People ask me since going vegan what is my favorite brand. No disrespect to the other brands but my absolute favorite that I love to recommend and hope to one day partner with is So Delicious Dairy Free. They have ice-cream, creamers, desserts, yogurts, drinks, and shreds. So yes, my house is all about the brand! They taste amazing and I have been having a blast adding them to my family’s menu.

This Week Sunday Scary

This is another busy week. The kids will be on their last camp week. I will discuss what they did and how it was with being online. I will day they adjusted to it after doing it for school. I also will be advocating for my children not to go back into the classroom. In Philadelphia they are asking for either online or hybrid however my kids go to a Catholic school and therefor they are requesting it to be full time school as if Covid-19 never happened. That doesn’t set right with me at all. I also will he taking one of my children to their first checkup that would have taken place when Covid-19 went down. So it will be good to see the new way of going to the doctors with children.
